Cause there's a monster living under my bed Whispering in my ear There's angel with a hand on my head She says I've got nothing to fear
FULL NAME Juliet Chase. PLAYED-BY Kristin Bauer. CODENAME Malice. TEAM Omicron; Co-Commander. POWER Superstrength.
Juliet Elizabeth Chase was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 12, 1974. She prefers only to be called Juliet. Nicknames are met with a vicious glare or a strong right hook. You have been warned.
Coming from a well-to-do, powerful family, Juliet was raised as a proper young lady with impeccable manners. Because of this, people generally regard her as polite and charming.
Don't underestimate her though because she's still a Southern girl with the ability to take care of herself. Her powers manifested when she was sixteen years old. A boy her age, Owen Johnson, was infatuated though she always tried to rebuff his advances. On day, he tried to steal a kiss from her, and Juliet got so mad that she punched him in the face. She had no idea that she had such powerful force behind it, causing her to put the boy in a coma and eventually death. Her accident caused a great ripple of consequences. The boy's family were vengeful in their grief, wanting some form of retribution against. Juliet was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter as an adult. The Chase family were disgraced throughout the area for having a 'dangerous psychotic daughter'.
Before her trial, government approached her and her family and struck up a deal. They recruited people like her. She wasn't the only one with special abilities. If she joined their team, they would clean her record and let her walk free. Juliet agreed. In order to appease the Johnson family and the general public, they took Juliet into their custody under the pretense that she would be rehabilitated in a government-secure center. She was later recruited to Omicron.
At the Omicron base, Juliet was trained and groomed to be a basic field agent. She spent two years in training, learning the ways of espionage, covert operations, hand-to-hand combat, and how to harness and control her strength. Initially, she had little control over her strength, and it came in unexpected spurts. It was a disaster for her to handle things since she wasn't sure whether she'd crush it simply from picking it up. She had to learn to touch and handle things as delicately as she could while gradually learning the extremes of her strength.
When she finally got pulled off the bench, Juliet took on the codename Malice and became one of the star agents in the field. Her guilt over killing someone, no matter how accidental it was, gave her a strong resolved and a steel focus to do as much good as she could in the world. Her passion for her career brought her up the Omicron ranks quickly, impressing many of the experienced leaders and agents in the group.
After the death of Paragon, Gregory Houfman took his place as Commander of Omicron. Juliet was subsequently chosen to serve as Co-Commander. Although she loved working in the field, she didn't hesitate to take this step up in the chain. She believed that would be able to do more good in that position. She absolutely detests people who use their power for their own personal gain or to cause terror in the general public.
Juliet's superhuman strength has been tested to its limit during her years at Omicron. She is able to lift cars and level mid-sized buildings with several punches. She's able to temper her strength after years of learning control over it. Since she lacks super durability, she's learned to be proficent in hand-to-hand combat and how to make people submit to her physically. Although she's more of an aggressive fighter, she's been forced to learn how to defend and dodge against other attacks since she's vulnerable to other superpowers that have a longer range than she does.
People find her personality to be what they consider 'prickly'. It's not that she isn't nice, but she isn't always sunshine and daisies. She has a very low tolerance for bullshit and people who waste her time. She also has a very high respect for good manners, and very rarely will you find her cursing. Juliet has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. She has a bit of a temper though she's learned to keep it under control with years of practice and learned patience. Despite this, she still loses it sometimes. In those moments, she's prone to physical violence. There's usually a mess to clean up afterward.
